Is the end also a new beginning?
Presented by Program Trinity, “Seven” is a dance theatre offering space to inquire one’s sense of self-worth in the process of chasing a dream, and the gradual exhaustion that accompanies on every step of the way.
Through "Seven", Program Trinity aims to push the boundaries of contemporary dance. The narrative draws from the personal journey of directors and choreographers Mukta Nagpal and Ashish Rao, and opens space for inquiry of self worth in the process of turning dreams into reality and finding oneself at a turning point.
What is often simplified as “hustle”, is in reality a deeply complex experience for an individual, forcing spontaneous decision making, bearing the weight of failure and may be even finding themselves lonely in a room full of people. Choreography, in collaboration with Trishita Sengupta, allows a new approach to movement based in gravity, breath, rhythms and characterisation.

Mukta Nagpal & Ashish Rao are contemporary dance artists and co-founders of Program Trinity (est. 2019) and Myān Dance Theatre (est.2025) dedicated to advancing movement education and movement theatre in India.
Mukta brings over a decade of experience as a performer and teacher, with work spanning institutions like the Boris Eifman Ballet (St. Petersburg), Innopraktika and Russian Seasons (Moscow), the Danceworx (Mumbai), and more.
Ashish, a professional dancer since 2010 and former gymnast, blends athleticism with expressive form. His movement language is shaped by global mentors, including Master Cecilio Godito (Philippines), Galya Gorbunova (Moscow) and Dmitry Kiman (Moscow).
Their choreographic works are an inquiry of personal, societal, cultural landscapes and their interrelation. Their first full-length work “MOL” identifies as a feminist voice, staged at St. Andrew’s Auditorium, Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre and IFBE in 2024. In 2025, they presented “Choukidaar”, a work in progress questioning the freedom of artistic expression in today’s world, at Veda Factory (Mumbai).
Reasons your MUST attend this show:
1.: Our work has previously been called ‘thought-provoking’ by Mid-Day. This show, like our previous work, tells a story while inviting the audience to reflect upon themselves and the world at large.
2.: This show bridges the gap between athleticism and artistry. A showcase of the physical demands of dance wrapped in the elegance of story-telling.
