Presenting a collection of works on 16mm, projected on a 16mm projector, by experimental artists Richard and Dianna.
Richard Tuohy and Dianna Barrie, both from Melbourne, are leading figures in handmade experimental film. In 2006, they co-founded Nanolab, Australia’s only commercial Super 8 processing lab. In 2012, they established Artist Film Workshop, a hub for celluloid-based practice in Melbourne. Active in the international artist-run film lab scene, they have toured extensively, presenting joint film programs and conducting over 70 workshops. Their films, firmly in the hand-processed tradition, have screened at Rotterdam, New York, Ann Arbor, and the Louvre. They co-founded Film Is Magazine and the Australian International Experimental Film Festival.
This evening, they will showcase their work and talk about it. It's a screening, mini masterclass and - before you know it - a mind-opening exercise.
