What's So Special About AltiPalti?

We belief art should mainly be fun - or at least cathartic - for both, the artists and the audience. But it's also a serious endeavour. Art shapes us. And what is 'alternative' even? Meet this year's curators and find out what their take is on 2026.

Also we don't like living in a bubble, but it's hard to get out of it - online as much as offline. So this festival is here to help. Mixing it all up. Turning it on its head. Criss-cross the city, inter-disciplinary, weird, fun, but also with a sincere agenda of making the 'alternative' a REAL alternative.

We want to grow a real-life infrastructure for alternative culture in this city that's sustainable from within — community-owned, artist-run, and genuinely fun to be part of. Not a bubble, but a world. And we're building it right now, show by show, venue by venue, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.

Art isn't abstract. So just come as you are. Think what you think. Feel what you feel. And much more (more gyaan and also a fun playlist of your new favourite acts here).

AltiPalti is entirely grassroots. No corporate sponsors, no institutional backing — just artists, audiences, and a stubborn belief that culture belongs to everyone. The ticket price covers our core costs. You can see exactly where every rupee goes because we keep our finances completely public (check it out: budget sheet).

So if you want to throw in a little extra at checkout, please do. It goes directly to paying artists fairly and keeping this city's alt scene alive.

You can either contribute conveniently via checkout Or, should you feel inclined to a slightly more generous amount, please email us.
