Okay, real talk. We don't like living in a bubble. Online as much as offline. And honestly? It's hard to get out of one — the algorithm keeps showing you what you already know, the city keeps pulling you back to the same three neighbourhoods. AltiPalti is here to help with that. Mixing it all up. Turning it on its head. Criss-crossing the city, deliberately inter-disciplinary, a little weird, genuinely fun — but also with a very serious agenda: making the 'alternative' a real alternative.
Art isn't abstract. It's not just for people who already know what contemporary dance is or who can tell their Carnatic from their Hindustani. It's for everyone. So come as you are. Think what you think. Feel what you feel. That's the entire invitation.
12 days, 12+ venues scattered across Mumbai — from Fort to Malad — each day in a different, off-beat location. Theatre, music, dance, film, visual art and everything in between. Every performance is different, one of its kind, unrepeatable. We approach all of this with complete seriousness — check out our curators and you'll see — but we firmly believe that art should mainly be fun. Or at least cathartic. For the artists and the audience. Both. At the same time.
We want to grow a real-life infrastructure for alternative culture in this city that's sustainable from within — community-owned, artist-run, and genuinely fun to be part of. Not a bubble, but a world. And we're building it right now, show by show, venue by venue, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.
